Mitchell's Chambers
Mitchell's Chambers has been well known as a law firm with
an international practice and for its formation of corporations
in Anguilla.
Ian Donaldson Mitchell QC was born in St. Kitts, and qualified
in 1971 to practice there and in England. Don has been resident
in Anguilla since 1976, when he was appointed as Magistrate/Registrar
which post he filled until 1980. He was admitted to the Anguilla
Bar in 1981 and since then has been at the forefront of Anguilla's
development as a financial centre. He was the President of the
Anguilla Financial Services Association until recently. In 1999
he was appointed a Judge of the Supreme Court of the Eastern Caribbean,
following which his firm has amalgamated with the firm of Webster
& Dyrud to form Webster
Dyrud Mitchell, the largest law firm in Anguilla.
The article by Judge Mitchell (or Don Mitchell QC, as he then
was), entitled Anguilla
as an Offshore Financial Center, provides extremely useful
background on Anguilla, although it has to be said that some time
has now passed since it was written.
Webster Dyrud Mitchell has continued Mitchell's Chambers'
membership of MacIntyre
Strater International.
